How do I measure and calculate how much insulation I need in my loft? It is important to take the time to work out how much insulation you need to ensure you get the best fit and also, so you don’t over or under order. Planning the installation is an important part of the job and correctly laid insulation significantly improves thermal performance. When insulating using Thermafleece we recommend you should install to a minimum depth of 240/250mm and ideally 300mm particularly for new … [Read More...]

Natural Insulations
Delivering quality sustainable and natural insulations for over 20 years.
Insulation generally comes to mind when the weather turns cold and heating bills increase dramatically but there is really no reason to wait until winter to insulate your property. Insulating offers benefits all year round, not least keeping your house warm in winter and cool in summer whilst saving you money at the same time.
Insulation is in effect a hidden material within your home, but just because you can’t see it it doesn't mean to say it is not important. It is easy to just think anything will do and opt for the cheapest, and if price is the only thing on your wish list then there are plenty of cheap – some more effective than others - options out there.
However, at Natural Insulations we believe that choosing the right insulation is important to complement the fabric of your building and that is why we offer:
Thermafleece British sheep’s wool insulation. Thermafleece uses the wool from sheep that are bred on the hills, fells and mountains of Britain. The sheep need to be hardy to thrive in this difficult environment meaning they need coarse bulky wool fleeces. Their wool isn’t suitable for clothing because it’s too coarse, it’s also too dark to dye so it can’t be used in carpets either. But it’s ideal for insulation, providing a natural, breathable, none itch, sustainable insulation ensuring durability and warmth in the harshest of weather.
Our Thermafleece British Sheeps wool house insulation is a rich wool blend of 75% wool in combination with recycled polyester fibres which ensures you get the full benefit of sheep’s wool with enhanced performance, durability and sustainability. Research shows that Thermafleece outperforms alternative products with a higher percentage of wool
Thermafleece sheep’s wool insulation can be used in Roofs, Walls, Lofts and Floors and supplied in different sizes and densities to suit your performance needs. The insulation uses only British Wool and is Manufactured in Yorkshire.
SupaSoft Insulation is made from recycled plastic bottles using the same technology as duvets and pillows taking waste plastic bottles and turning them into a soft, warm and kind insulation. It doesn’t itch or contain any harmful chemicals.
Good for your home, your family and the environment. Installing just one pack of SupaSoft in your loft takes 800 plastic bottles out of circulation. Insulating with SupaSoft throughout the loft of an average sized house therefore means that approximately 10,000 bottles will never touch landfill.
Thermafleece NatraHemp - medium density hemp insulation for walls and roofs which is rich in hemp fibres. NatraHemp contains 60% hemp, 30% recycled polyester and 10% polyester binder with a high recycled content and is a safe, efficient and durable alternative insulation when plant fibre is the preferred choice.
Thermofloc Loose Fill. A non-bonded cellulose insulation made from recycled newspaper combined with a mineral fire retardant. Available in 12kg bags the material is simply broken up into a light fluffy consistency and spread evenly to achieve the desired thickness
Steico wood fibre insulation Made from forest thinnings and saw mill residues Steicoflex is a higher density flexible insulation with good acoustic properties whilst Steico Protect DRY is an internal plaster carrying board for direct fixing to timber frames without the need for a supporting backer board
We also offer breathable lime plaster for interior walls, battery powered loft lights, insulation membranes and tapes and loft legs which allow you to board the loft without compressing the insulation
